Around SBN: How NBA Draft Lottery Results Affect Prospects' High Hopes

Open Thread: Game 119 - A's vs. Rangers (cont.)

Seemed like a pretty clear strike to me, personally

I hope he’ll come up and look to swing the bat, unlike Carter.

not an easy throw, I agree, but you bounce it midway between home and 3B it could really bounce anywhere, skip into foul territory, LF, or whatever

I do think he was pretty lucky that the ball bounced cleanly to sizemore.

Also no batter was in the way, he threw from home to 3B, andrus was between 2B and 3B.

by Billy Frijoles on Aug 13, 2011 2:11 PM PDT up reply actions

it really can't bounce anywhere.

It will go straight foward 99% of the time. And there was a lefty (Hamilton i think) that was directly between powell and 3rd. Definite obstacle.

Sad deal. Two of my friends were struck by lightning playing golf yesterday. One was temporarily paralyzed while the other is still in critical condition. He may lose some toes and his arm but they aren’t sure yet. I was playing golf at another course at the same time while it was lightning and never will again.

I'm amazed that nothing's happened regarding LH batters.

It’s been demonstrated again and again that they get a wide wide strike zone. Consistently. Individual ump mistakes I’m okay with, but a consistent bias against LHB? That’s not good.
