Stockton goes for 16th straight tonight

With the Major League ballclub scuffling I thought we could use some positive news.  The A's minor league advanced A team, the Stockton Ports, have won 15 straight and go for their 16th tonight.  Starting pitcher tonight is the A's number one draft choice from 2007, James Simmons.  The most encouraging new is that the Ports have accomplished their wins, not through pitching, but via the offense.  They have won pure slug fests with scores of 8-6, 8-5, 9-8, 9-7, & 14-12.  Check out these slash numbers for the last ten games: AVG / OBP / SLG

Catcher Ryan Ortiz: 368/432/605

Catcher Ryan Ripkin: 333/381/513

3b Leonardo Gil: 314/385/429

2b Michael Gilmartin: 378/419/703

1b Anthony Aliotti: 289/400/474

SS Dusty Coleman: 342/405/605

CF Michael Choice: 316/426/605

Makes you really hopeful for the future.  Anybody know what the record is for minor league consecutive wins?
