This is my first post so forgive me if this has been discussed at length. I hear so much from GM Beane that a new stadium will bring better players, more $$, and more championships. Now correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the A's win '72-74 and go to the World Series "88-'90 and win in 1989? Where did they do this? You guessed it Oakland Coliseum. Now I know that my shrine in Oakland is run down, ugly as sin, and not very eye appealing, but I think it's absurd to think a new stadium will get a championship. What Beane and the so called owners need to do is pry open their tightly clenched and spend some money on talent and for the love of God PLEASE stop trading any shred of talent we get! I can't help but watch players like Jemile Weeks make awesome plays and think, Beane will trade him away for a brokedown vet who gets a lot of BB's and high OBS%
I think the A's ownership needs to take a hard look at what they are doing and invest $$ in the team rather than blame inanimate objects and Selig. Let me know how you feel?
