I have been trying to find a reason to talk about the Melvins after the hiring of Bob Melvin.  I especially love the "Nude with Boots" album.  They go from incoherent to totally tight rock pretty quickly.  I think adding that 2nd drummer has forced them to be a little more coherent....

Oh, not all of you are stoner rock fans?  OK, well the A's won one last night.  I listened to Ken and Vince on the radio, and felt pretty good about my choice of how to receive the game until I looked at the highlights this morning and saw they had the yellow jerseys!  Man I just love to watch the A's when they have on the yellow jerseys.  Everything looks better.

What really looked good was Barton's liner into left center.  Exactly what I expected him to do repeatedly all summer, instead of sucking like he has been doing.  I was the dumb ass who predicted he could hit .400 and so far he doesn't appear able to hit .250.  I think the word is out that the A's can't hit.  And what that has done is convinced the opposing pitchers to pound the strike zone.  So we better adapt.  Working the count doesn't work if the pitchers aren't wild and aren't afraid of the batters.  I'd like to think the adaptation is in progress.  Let's go A's.
