Outman
His command is lousy, is lucking out because he’s pitching at the Coliseum at night, but he’s keeping the team in the game.
As everyone has said, this is sort of performance one should expect after the injury rehab.

That isn't always true
Meta stuff is either amusing or really, really annoying.
It's been 2 years since Tommy John, and the A's can't afford to be living with his bad performance in the Majors.
I’d much rather see Travis Banwart or Graham Godfrey, they’re more likely to be replacement level. Outman has nothing and is going to be putting up negative WAR quickly.

We just had an outbreak of "guest relations"
The stadium is about half-full, and yet the ushers suddenly decided they had to check our tickets….and gave us a hard time for not being in our assigned seats, although most of us had done a seat downgrade rather than an upgrade.
I, however, did not get scolded because I absentmindedly showed the guy my Cache Creek scratcher card instead.

PL76: regarding Sweeney
Adjusting for his normal BABIP his line would look like:
270/385/385
Which is pretty much his career line except a few less singles and a few more walks. Ham man is a better hitter than that. So is Barton.
Sorry
270/365/365
Got the 6 and 8 mixed up. Not quite so nice unfortunately.
Aaaaaaaaaand finally he's throwing the slider.
Seriously if this is just Kurt not wanting to throw a third pitch the first time through the order, that’s RIDICULOUS. Outman clearly needs the slider to be effective.

Don't know if it's Kurt.
But whatever it is…it’s an odd plan. I get that it’ll help a starter’s longevity…but if he’s been scuffling this whole game, it seems silly.
Right, it's been working fairly well for the very good starting pitchers...
the ones you know will probably be alright with fewer pitches and who will almost definitely still be pitching in the 6th…
but if the pitcher isn’t getting anybody out, don’t you break from that strategy to go to his better pitches…?

For the most part.
Cahill and McCarthy usually don’t throw the curve until the second time through.
Anderson and Gio not so much, perhaps because Anderson’s change-up is pretty much just a show-me sort of thing, and Gio’s curve is such an obvious strike-out weapon.

and play them based on matchups. Fuentes gets the lefty-heavy one, between the 8th and 9th.
In that case...he played it right.
Baltimore’s lineup is all righties, save for Markakis. Who will bat in the 9th if Balfour allows a baserunner.

That would mean he’d be unavailable tomorrow and the day after that, probably.

Wow. I knew about Designated for Assignment
But I didn’t know DFA meant that, I thought it was free agent.
I guess I should have asked.
When you're DFA'd, you're immediately yanked off the roster.
Then the team has a certain amount of time (I think it’s ten days?) to either cut him or trade him.
Yeah, I know how Designated for Assignment works
I was showing off to all my friends my awesome knowledge when discussing Bradley (how did THAT take that long?), just didn’t know DFA stood for it.
