A's Reportedly Swap Relievers: Deal Danny Farquhar For David Purcey

Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the A's have acquired David Purcey, recently DFA by the Toronto Blue Jays, in exchange for Danny Farquhar. Where did he come from again? Oh right: The Blue Jays (Rajai Davis trade).

The best part of this news is that I will not have to pause for 30 seconds trying to remember how to spell "Farquhar". The worst part of this news is that according to his career stats, Purcey kind of sucks, though his K-rate is good and there was apparently a lot of interest in him this week when he was DFA.

I feel that with this trade, the landscape of the AL West has completely and dramatically shifted.
