Minor A's 4/15

So the whole system was dominated by pitching today. Hitting was nowhere to be seen and our arms absolutely dominated today. Starters went 26.1 IP and gave up 1 ER. If you include Gio in that mix, the A's went 32.1 IP giving up just 1 ER yesterday. I honestly would trade just a few earned runs for some more hitting. I like that all our boys won, but they look a lot like the wins we get in Oakland, stressful and close.

On a side note...GO SHARKS!

Sac: 3-5, W 2-1 over Las Vegas

Weeks 2B: 0-4, BB, .323

Tolleson LF: 0-2, 2 R, 2BB, K (batted third in the line-up, as Carter was moved to fourth for some reason.)

Carter DH: 0-4, BB, 2K .107 (ohh that's right, that's why he was moved down one, now 0-16 in his last 5 games. I know he starts off slow, but this is not giving me confidence.)

Moscoso SP: 6 IP, 4 H, BB, 3 K .82 ERA (So, we have a lot of depth in pitching. He's always had pretty good numbers until a rough patch last year.) moscoso

Midland: 6-1, W 3-0 over Arkansas

Green SS: 1-4 .267

Spina 1B: 1-4, R, RBI, .407

Parker 3B: BB, 3 K .333

Barfield DH: 1-4, .250

Sulentic RF: 0-2, RBI, 2 BB .273

Hernandez SP: 5.2 IP, H, BB, 7 K  1.54 ERA  (Nice start to his season. This is his third stint in AA, he's got to try and cut down on his hits allowed, and so far so good, just 7 on the season.

Stockton: 5-3, W 3-1 over Modesto

Choice CF: 1-4, RBI, 2 K .226

Stassi DH: 0-3, 2 K .269

Gil 3B: 2-4, R, K .259 (23 year old, out of Venezuela. Showed some good power in KC last season smacking 13 HR and 26 doubles. Doesn't walk much, with a sub .300 OBP last season.)

Dixon RF: 0-2, BB .087 (being over matched right now)

Gilliam SP: 7 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 7K (Now 2-0 on the season. Was drafted in the 8th rnd in '09)

Burlington: 6-2, W 5-1 over Peoria

Landaeta DH: 0-4, K, .353

Thompson 1B: 0-4, K, .419

Consigli RF: 2-3, R, BB, .462 (the hits just keep on comin.)

Nester C: 1-3, R, 2B, 3 RBI, K, .154 (39th rnd pick in '10 out of Clemson. He his .182 in Vancouver last year. I think this means he's known for his defense and calling a game. You'd think considering Griffin's game.)

Griffin SP: 7.2 IP, H, 2 BB, 9K 1.32 ERA (That's 19K in 13.2 IP while only giving up 4 hits. Like others have mentioned, a little older from SD, he's 23. Big kid though, 6-5 215.)
