AN Hottie Poll — Vote for #8

There is a very important question that needs to be answered in this off-season: Now that Travis and Chavvy are gone, who is AN's favorite hottie on the team? We must research this.

To find the answer, we're running this set of polls. Vote for the player you think is most good-looking. Or if your favorite is not listed, vote "write-in" and name him in the comments. Anyone on the A's 40-man roster is eligible. All AN members are welcome to vote, regardless of gender or sexual preference. Straight guys, it's OK to judge how good-looking men are, so don't be shy. Go ahead and vote. It won't make you gay, I promise.

Kurt Suzuki sneaks ahead of Daric Barton in late voting to win the #7 spot. Who will be #8?

Star-divide

[Jump to: candidates | poll ]

Because of the closeness of the results — Suzuki finished only two votes ahead of Barton — the case was referred to the Iglew State Supreme Court. After careful deliberation, the Court ruled that a runoff is not required.

No new candidates are added this time. Furthermore, I've removed Joey Devine, because his picture isn't working well and he got zero votes last time anyway. This still leaves you with seven to choose from, which ought to be plenty.

As always, if you wish to nominate a candidate for next round (including putting Joey back), add a comment saying "Nomination for [so-and-so]." If someone has already nominated the guy you want, recommend that comment. But please only nominate or recommend if it's someone you actually might vote for next round. That is, if there are two guys currently on the list you'd pick first, don't nominate.

Anyone on the 40-man roster is eligible to play. To jog your memory, here's a list of the guys we haven't seen yet: Brett Anderson, Grant Balfour, Jerry Blevins, Dallas Braden, Trevor Cahill, Bobby Cramer, Fautino de los Santos, Pedro Figueroa, Brian Fuentes, Trystan Magnuson, Brandon McCarthy, Guillermo Moscoso, Josh Outman, Tyson Ross, Michael Wuertz, Brad Ziegler, Josh Donaldson, Adrian Cardenas, Sean Doolittle, Kevin Kouzmanoff, Cliff Pennington, Adam Rosales, Eric Sogard, Michael Taylor, Hideki Matsui.

Feel free to post pictures or "scouting reports" in the comments. If a picture is one I might use in the poll, I appreciate a link to the original source so that I can credit it properly.

#22
Chris Carter
(Vernon Christopher Carter)
6'5", 230 lbs
born Dec 18, 1986 (Sagittarius)

Built for DIИGERZ!!! aka Trogdor, the Beast. The A's #1 prospect, in his callup last year he started out 0-for-lots, but hope springs eternal. We're not sure what position he'll play. He seems too young to be a DH. At 1B or LF he, um, gets an E for effort.

#4
Coco Crisp
(Covelli Loyce Crisp)
6'0", 180 lbs
born Nov 1, 1979 (Scorpio)

Center fielder. Signed prior to the 2010 season. He missed more than half the season due to injury, but he was awesome when he did play. Cool hair, cool name ... what's not to like?

born June 6, 1977 (Gemini)

Second baseman, aka the Unicorn, from South Dakota. Longest-tenured player with the team, made his major-league debut with the A's in 2002. Acquired from the Royals in the awesome three-way trade that turned Angel Berroa, A.J. Hinch and Ben Grieve into Johnny Damon, Cory Lidle, and Mark Ellis.

What, that Daric inexplicably came so close to beating out Kurt?

Or that both of them have been getting more votes than your boy Bailey?

by whiteshoes40 on Feb 8, 2011 9:49 PM PST up reply actions

Yeah, I know.

How much longer shall we beat it? Will 10 be enough?

This is a miscarriage of democracy.

There is no way a sophisticated electorate would vote for anyone other than Barton. What the actual hell. I call voter fraud, and I refuse to participate any further.

Just as soon as I vote for Barton.

Agreed on conspiracy.

I think it comes from the top. Every player’s photo shows them either smiling or posing some form of Blue Steel. Barton’s photo has his subtly glorious cheeks hidden by eye-black. And he has some sort of inexplicable smirk. I am outraged.
Plus last time I voted there was a hanging Chad incident.

That's Daric?

Do you have a source? The original picture without the valentine stuff all around it?
