Beane should have made this move. There was zero risk in offering Chavez an invite to ST (ducks). Hey! Lemme finish….,no really, I understand the “been there, done that” sentiment with Chavez and yes, he probably will fall apart sooner than later. But C’mon!!! We spend $11 mill a year on this guy. Wouldn’t you like the opportunity to maybe, finally, get some mileage from him? You know how this is going to go down, right? A-rod’s hip is going to fall off, Chavez is gonna be their starting 3B (ducks…knock it off!!!) and win comeback player of the year award just so we can hear some ESPN hack talk about how great of a GM cashman is and how this Chavez kid came from nowwhere….blah
