For the love of Baseball
I am an A’s fan. They are my first love. I grew up in Tacoma, Washington in the 80’s and spent my summers as a child at the AAA ball field watching A’s prospects. They all got called up and would destroy the Mariners on TV. It is my earliest memories of sport and was a companion through some difficult times. I have only seen 3 games in Oakland (one on my honeymoon ‘cause I got an awesome wife). Therefore I have loyalty to the team but not a lot to the city.
For the love of baseball can we get a $#@& verdict. I check the internet three times a day since the World Series ended waiting for news. I don’t need a good team in 2012 or even 2013. I need Billy Beane to stick around and I need some movement, some hope, some future.
I am hoping for a move to San Jose. I am hoping for some construction to begin and an organizational direction towards a competitive ball club. I can start following AA and AAA affiliates and gathering momentum while Willingham, Gonzales, and Crisp move on and a team of temps put on the white shoes for a while.
I just need movement. My animosity towards our commissioner (whom a friend recently pointed out has a face that looks like a catcher’s glove) is growing steadily. I need movement. Please!
