Yeah, the title gave you nothing. Oh Darn. It seems to me that Billy Beane is being a crazy wizard once again. It also seems to me that he has all but blocked Chris Carter from seeing regular ABs against major league pitching. This post is a forecast of what we do when (if?) we aren't in the race at the deadline. Yes, our lineup is better. But, for the sake of this post, lets say our collection of 2 and 5 hitters dont get the job done. and the sky falls on Cahill (as so many other people think). and we fall out by the deadline. ABs would be given to prospects like Carter as well as they should. What then do we do with guys like DeJesus? Willingham? Kouzmanoff? Braden?
Of course, we flip them for prospects. but not every prospects is a gold mine. and the ones that are are very difficult to get. All the good teams have logjams. it is exactly what leads to the organization having "depth". However, looking over prospect list after prospect list has given me certain teams that stick out more. the Reds seem to have lots of OF and C prospects not to mention Yonder Alonso blocked currently by Joey Votto. The (Devil) Rays have uncanny pitching prospect depth. And the Dodgers are financially needy and have a lot of athletes in their system. Am I missing any? who are blocked prospects you'd like to see in the A's system?
