So I have come up with 2 "good" ideas that may explain.
So I don't know if this is 100% true but if it is I ask myself why...
1) (the one I hope for) He knows the A's want him back on some form of an incentive-laden deal. So he is comfortable knowing this but wants to see what offers he can get elsewhere. He wants to be a starter not a reliever and intends on letting people know this.
2) He wants nothing to do with the A's anymore. He has said numerous times that he wants to be closer to his son who is in college somewhere on the East Coast. I know he said that he was happy with how the A's handled his depression issues and all that but maybe that was all show.
I don't know what the deal is here, but I am hopeful we bring back Duke for a year on an incentive-laden contract to have him start. McCarthy and Harden either would create great depth, or we can trade them out after they pitch a few starts or so in AAA.
"Justin Duchscherer threw 50-55 pitches in front of two teams today, including the Orioles according to Dan Connolly of The Baltimore Sun. Duchscherer has invited every team except the Athletics to a public workout next Tuesday."
