I hope so.

I volunteer in an ER. We get lots of people with chest pains who don’t have anything serious but the nurses and doctors much prefer that they come in than wait till it’s too late.

Malarchuk was lucky to be in the crease on the Zamboni side, nearest the ambulance. Also to have a a former army medic on hand to help stop the bleeding, which would likely have been fatal within minutes had the skate severed the carotid a few mm higher. And to think after 300+ stitches, he was back on the ice playing a few days later.
