Evan Longoria has a short memory
In regards to Brendan Morrow's efforts in his 1-hit shutout...
"He was putting guys away better than anybody I’ve ever seen," Longoria said.
Aside from the obvious A's-related point of this post, I was glad to see Dan Johnson get his next chance at MLB. I guess I'm still a little unsure how he couldn't stick with the A's - he's always seemed like a nice enough guy and I always thought he'd put a .375/.450 line up in the majors...

yeah, Braden got a Perfect Game, but he did not do it as dominating as Morrow's near no hitter
Theres something to be said about almost striking out every batter you face

Yep, Morrow was certainly more dominant
He also had a higher game score (100 to 93)

Morrow's game score was 100?

He would have had a 105 if he struck out the side in the ninth. That would have tied Kerry Wood for the highest in a game.

Morrow was way more dominant than Dallas
3 times he has gone at least 5 no hit innings this season apparently.
I think an interesting question is this:
Who would you rather have on your team… Braden or Morrow?
I'd trade Braden for Morrow
even though I’d miss Dallas. Between Braden’s constant injuries and his toughing it out with borderline stuff, I think he’s less likely to be successful in the next few years. Morrow has problems with command, but he’s leading the AL in K/9. There is no chance that Braden will be a dominant starter — there’s a fair chance that Morrow could be one.
On the 4 days they’re not pitching? I’d rather have Braden on the team, no doubt about it!

Morrow has constantly been hurt and has type 1 diabetis so theyre pretty similar in that regard.
The team needs good hitters. Whether or not they're power hitters is irrelevent. - lenscrafters and many others.

I just meant that we can't count on Braden to be a Blanton-style innings eater
who adds equivalent value through consistency, durability and quantity of innings pitched. Braden won’t start 35 games a year, and isn’t dominant. I love him, but objectively he’s got some serious flaws as a member of a starting rotation.
I didn’t know about Morrow’s diabetes, though. I don’t think that would change my opinion about the trade, despite the fact that Morrow could end up being Rich Harden II for all we know. Do you remember what injuries he’s had? I remember him being DL’d, but can’t remember what was wrong.

back spasams and a couple minor nagging shoulder injuries.

transplant Morrow's arm onto Braden
become a switch pitcher

Pat Venditte is doing quite well so far
Of course, he’s also 25 and in A ball still for a reason that boggles the mind.
I’m really not sure what the hell the Yankees are doing with him, but he should’ve been in AA at the start of this season, and he probably should be in AAA (or the majors) now. He strikes out a ton, doesn’t walk anybody, doesn’t give up homers or hits. He’s been awesome.

Not even close, Morrow is a gem of a pitcher who is finally finding his way.
Morrow is looking like Ulbaldo Jimenez did at the beginning of 09.. more likely 08. He’s going to be icy. Braden is at his ceiling of a decent #4/#5 on a great team.
-Yeah, I just posted that, but my opinion is apparently "wrong" a significant portion of the time though, so take it as you will.
Only on AN
Would people have reservations about trading Braden for Morrow.
What does CEIT mean?
Google says “Christian Educators Insurance Trust” which…doesn’t seem right
