Ray is better for TV.

Not that he’s particularly visual, but because he’s good at generic irrelevant chatting (and even occasional analysis) but not so good at relating what’s going on in the game. With radio you rely on the announcers to let you know what’s going on. With TV you don’t; you can watch the game yourself, and the announcers are just there to gab and keep you company.

What I like to do is check out Fangraphs' velocity charts.

The gray bars show the range of speeds of his fastball for each start, and the green dot is the average speed, also only for that start.

Yeah, it seems to be.

One thing to note, though. This is based off of the PitchFX pitch classifications, which means that if PitchFX gets fooled (it thinks Wuertz’s slider is a changeup half of the time), these graphs may not be accurate. A fastball is pretty easy to pick out, though.
