There might be bad news from Portland regarding Carter
I was at the Rivercats game in Portland (6/12) and Chris Carter was hit by a pitch. It looked like it got him in the right arm and he was quickly taken out of the game. I hope it's nothing too serious! Taylor had a couple of hits including a nice H.R. to left. Halama looked REALLY good and I think he lasted 7 2/3 innings. Anyone from Portland going to the game on Sunday? It's the last time the Rivercats will be here, at least for a few years.
Also, I just want to say hello to everyone! I've been a lurker for a few years now and I really enjoy this site and the people who contribute. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section.
Let's go OAKLAND,

Carter might want to avoid going to Portland from now on
Both trips there, he’s been hit by pitches and had to leave and/or miss games.

At least he wasn't hit on the hand. Those are the ones I worry about.
It’s probably just a deep bruise, rather than broken bones.

Yeah, it didn't sound like it'd be too bad
May have just taken him out for precautionary reasons, but we’ll find out soon.

Until he coughs...and gets the flu...

Good to hear Taylor had a nice game
lets hope he starts heating up.
As for Carter, it would be a bummer but at least it makes him less of an option to be rushed prematurely to the big league team.
-Yeah, I just posted that, but my opinion is apparently "wrong" a significant portion of the time though, so take it as you will.
Speaking of Portland, what's the story these days?
I’ve heard rumors they’re looking at moving the team to Beaverton nearby, but I’ve also seen San Marcos in the San Diego area mentioned.

Portland Beavs could be on the move....
Sadly, from what I’ve read its likely the Portland Beavers will be moving out of state after this season. The owner of both the baseball and soccer teams, Merritt Paulson, chose to renovate PGE Park for soccer only and decided to relocate the Beavers. Soccer outdraws baseball here in Portland. Paulson who owns both the Beavers and Portland Timbers tried to relocate the baseball team to several locations around Portland Metro including Beaverton. In Beaverton’s case, the land for the proposed stadium location that is owned by a private family refused to sell to the Beavers and the city decided against invoking eminent domain. If the Beavers depart it would leave Oregon with no AAA baseball. More sadness. I think the next closest pro team geographically is the Salem Volcanoes, a Gnats A affiliate.
Though no destination has been announced there been plenty of speculation where the Beavs might end up. I’ve heard San Marcos, Boise and Tucson as a few possibilities. I’m sure there are/will be others.
