I've dropped by once before to congratulate you on the Braden Perfect Game. I have a question that I have wondered about for as long as I can remember. Well, for as long as the Raiders have been in Oakland. You see, I'm a Padres fan, a Chargers fan, and a lifelong San Diegan. As a sports fan, I am led to have a foul taste for the Giants and Raiders but I have no problem with the 49ers (barring the 94 Super Bowl) and I tend to enjoy watching the A's.
I don't think it would send shock waves through here if I said the Raiders and the city of Oakland have developed a bad reputation and are known by many to have citizens/fans that are thugs and gang-bangers...Although, the city is beautiful, I've met many fine people from there and, well, Too Short is alright.
My question is this:
The Raiders and Oakland, because of their reputation, seem to go hand in hand. Baseball is a gentlemen's sport and, while intense at times, isn't intended for thugs and isn't a catalyst for fans trying to look "hood". Do most A's fans consider themselves Raiders fans as well or is there somewhat of a disconnect between the two?
