A's fans lose a member of our family

Margaret Baker was the type of A's fan we all would like to be.  She passed away peacefully this week.  It was at Spring Training this year that she first felt the signs of the cancer that took her very quickly.  I had been checking this year for her at her long time seat in the first raised row above the walkway behind home plate.

Campy and his wife came out from Scotsdale and visited Margaret in the hospital.  It makes me proud of the A's family.  Some very special people made up the A's team over the years.  But the early 70s had a very special group.

She had plenty of stories but my favorite was about her at the A's fantasy camp in 1990.  Attached is a version.  Scroll down to "Hats Off".

Good-bye Margaret.
