Since becoming an A’s fan in the early 2000s, I’ve been lucky enough to experience some fun and exciting A’s moments and a few disappointments and let downs along the way, like our playoff failures and the way we lost those division series especially when in some cases, we were clearly the superior team.
Watching us clinch the AL West in 2000 was the start of the my A’s memories for me. Sweeping both the Yankees and Redsux in back-to-back series in Oakland; witnessing the extra innings walk-off bunt vs. the Redsux in the 2003 playoffs; the heart pounding experience of watching both Zito and Harden carry no-hitters into the 7th in back-to-back games vs. the Rangers; feeling the energy and excitement that 50,000+ exuberant A’s fans brought to a jammed packed Coliseum; hearing the chants of Maaarco! Scuuutaro! in the 2006 playoffs when we finally got the monkey off our backs by advancing to the ALCS; after winning 10 straight on the road, returning home to win 10 more to set an AL modern day record for consecutive wins in a season; and to again experience another special A’s moment yesterday, on mother’s day, watching Dallas Braden deliver perfection was simply amazing. For me, the last 2 moments truly stand out in my young tenure as an A’s fan as the most memorable moments in my last 10 years as an A's fan.
The only thing that would beat those 2 would be winning a World Series.
So just to satisfy my curiosity, which one of the 2 exciting A’s moments stand out to A’s fans as the most impressive feat for the A’s in the last 10 years, and why? I added a poll and there's no 3rd option because I wanted to force you into picking one.
The A’s 20 game win streak
