Come to Praise or Come to Mock - Either is Fine

Howdy A's Nation Community,

Caught up in the same general sense of euphoria that's gripped pretty much all of us since Barton caught the third out yesterday , I wrote a post (linked here) detailing my undying love for Our Boy Dallas at my website curveballcity.com. (You may read the post if you wish, particularly if you're a fan of contrived run-on sentences, but feel free to ignore. That's your right, and it would be wrong of me to deny you it.) This morning, the following comment appeared:

Guys - everyday on SportsNation we name a site we like, and after Dallas’ big day yesterday you’re our big winner. We air at 4pm & midnight ET on ESPN2, so feel free to tell your readers.

Two and a half possibilities emerge:

(1) This is an elaborate rib pulled by one of my less compassionate buddies, who will soon be lucky to have feeling left in any of his toes after the beating I administer.

(2) This is legit.

(2a) This is legit, but it's still a desperation move pulled by a dying show sagging in the ratings. (If such is the case, joke's on you, SportsNation - we don't have any readers!)

Sadly enough, each of these possibilities excites me.

So feel free to tune in if you've got the time, the ability and the inclination, whether out of a desire to share in the joy of fleeting and questionable fame for fellow Oakland fans if this turns out to be the real deal, or to laugh as my last gullible ember of hope that there is good in this world fades away into the night if this is a prank. Either way, good times!
