HAPPY FRIDAY NIGHT GAME THREAD, EVERYONE!
In case you missed the very good news, the A's have inked Brett Anderson to a four-year contract, with club options for 2014 and 2015. I unabashedly, unequivocally LOVE this contract, since I think (and it would appear that the A's concur), that Anderson is the real deal.
Anderson is part of an A's staff who has started the season 5-0; with every starter notching a win through the first eleven games. From MLB.com:
A's starters are now 5-0 with a 2.47 ERA (18 earned runs in 65 2/3 innings pitched) this season. Since 1982, the only other time Oakland starters won at least their first five decisions was 2003, when they began 6-0.
Tonight's game will feature Dallas Braden as the starting pitcher looking to continue the trend. Braden has pitched very well in his first two starts; picking up the victory in his last. He will be facing off against Kevin Millwood and the O's offense. It would be nice to get a Friday night win for the crowd, and also to guarantee no worse than a series split.
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
