Conflict With Stanford MBB

When TV made a late change to move up the Stanford-Cal MBB game from its originally scheduled time to 3:00 PM, KTRB probably had no choice but to not cover today’s game. The Stanford pre-game starts at 2:30 PM.

by muscatel on Mar 6, 2010 2:22 PM PST reply actions

Yes, Cal At Stanford Is On CSN California At 3:00 PM

Same network as the A’s. I think it will be a Cal telecast… they have a side deal with CSN California from the days when it only carried the Kings… and not a Pac-10 telecast, which would be on CSN Bay Area instead and have neutral announcers (I’ll turn down the Cal ones).

People theorize that dry air either makes it hard for pitches to break, or it dries out the baseballs themselves

which makes it harder to throw curves and sliders. I think this is the current consensus on why Coors has always been such a hitter’s paradise, and why keeping the baseballs in a humidor has calmed down the run-scoring up there.
