8 days and counting down
So many questions left with the last 8 days till the start of the season.
Who makes the team? LRP take your pick of the 3 Jennings, Kilby, or Blevins. None has stood out to be the leader. 10 days ago it was Jennings but lately he has stunk.
Is the injury bug gone? Can never tell on this one. The bullpen is hurting and what will become of the starters that are recovering from last year.
What happens with Chavez? Does he make the team or can they send him to extended spring training? I don't see Beane cutting lose his buddy but Chavez is still very rusty at the plate.
Who gets traded? Fox, Patterson, and Buck are on the bubble and only Buck has a option left. I don't see any of them making through waivers. Can the A's option Powell and let Fox be the back up catcher to see if he is worth keeping? Buck is having a good spring but he is the odd man out and other clubs are watching him so don't count out a trade. I just don't see Patterson making the team only if a injury happens in the final week.
Can you hate the giants anymore? After watching the CSN game the other night and hearing Sabean saying how much he hates the A's and everything to do with the A's. I always thought Sabean was a ass but that proves it even more. The comment even caught the giant's announcers off guard. I guess when you are the second best baseball GM in the bay area it makes you more pissy.
8 days to do the yard work and get the wife's fix it list done and then baseball. Thank God

A few things are taking shape
Though these moves weren’t unexpected: SuSlu reports that Taylor, Carter and Mazzaro are being sent down.

no surprise there
Mazzaro is getting more seasoning in AAA. It also delays his free agency a year by keeping him down in AAA. Taylor and Carter needs the playing time in AAA. All 3 should be up by the end of the year.
Sabean's a dolt.
he thinks if the A’s didn’t take part of the bay area audience, then the Giants would have a larger audience, higher rev’s, higher payroll, etc. Too bad people want to see a team with a title (other than “pretentious wine-drinking-at-baseball-games-only-have-2-pitchers-worth-watching-gaveuponRajtoosoon-overpaidforRowan-onlyprospectworthofnoteisafelon-pricks”).

He overpaid Zito like $30mil.

Sabean can go suck a donkey
He overpaid Zito like $30mil. Imagine what Beane could do with his payroll.Sabean should hate the A’s for winning more games while spending less and exposing him as the douche he is. Cain and lincecum will leave for a real team in a few years. They won’t want to play under a gm that is more concerned about chasing records than winning. Or was he just too incompetent to try both.

Sabean can go suck a donkey
A Ballade [for the Angels Fan], by Eustache Deschamps: "We are cowardly, ill-formed and weak / Aged, envious and evil-spoken. / I see only fools and sots / Truly the end is nigh / All goes ill."
Sabean can go suck a donkey
Perhaps Sabean is extra-pissy because he knows that Oakland is about to get San Jose?
COULD BE SAN JOSE
It was right after the meeting the A’s had with Selig.
could just be Sebean's a dickhole.

Sabean said he hated Oakland??
What did he say, exactly? Sorry I missed it. Well, that just means I’ll be sure to let him know what I think of him and his team when I see him out somewhere this summer.
Oh yeah, that’ll be sweet. I hope it’s somewhere “nice”. :-)
I needed a team so I wouldn’t turn into one of the eighty million pink hat-wearing Bud Light-drinking mulleted idiots at Fenway.
I gather he said something about wanting to suck a donkey
but not being able to without the permission of A’s fans, and that now the donkey rights have been expressly confirmed. I wonder if Finley’s mule is somehow involved?
They can keep the Jackass
We’ll keep the ’Phant.
Leopold Bloom on why he loves Mr. Peter Gammons, his best buddy:
"Peter Gammons systematically ignored and/or ran down the A’s in the pages of Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News for a good ten year stretch in the late seventies and early to mid-eighties. Trust me, the c**ksucker hates our team."
A's/giants game
It was during the 2nd or third innings when the gianst announcer were interviewing Sabean.
Optioning Powell down to AAA
might be an option, if Fox proves worthy of the extended look!
The thought hadn’t crossed my mind, but IMO it seems like it could work…
Option Powell
That is one way to keep Fox on the roster. Powell projects to hit more homers over the course of a full season based on last years mlb numbers. It doesn’t seem like we would be gaining much by substituting powell’s spot for fox. That is one way to keep him from being claimed on waivers.

How much playing time though does Powell get in Sac-town?
C/DH?
Donaldson should play everyday, because I thought Powelll’s knees can’t handle the everyday workload?
With all roster crunching going on, the RiverCats manager has a very important role on the 2010 A’s as well. I hope Buck/Taylor/Carter/Cardenas/ play every single day to get as many AB’s as they can!!!
2/3 of the playing time
Still along shot if Beane sends him down but i feel it would be better for Powell in the long run since the first month Suzuki will be playing all the games.
