I'm on the 2010 Season Ticket Holder DL for the Entire Season
Granted, this may be presumptuous to think that I, a mere cog in the wheel of A's fandom matter that much to the A's Nation constituents. However, I have always felt such some warm feelings from the congregation, that this is the venue for me to share my upcoming frustration in being on the Disabled List. I guess that's what I get for being in too close proximity to certain fragile A's players. I guess it is catching.
Anyway, I am dealing with a serious medical condition that will require certain restrictions counterindicated to attending games. I have been advised to 1. avoid crowds, 2. avoid the cold weather and 3.avoid the heat. So, this relegates me to , what.... watching the games in the comfort of my home. My hope is to go on an rehab assignment in early August .
But, what really frosts my hide is missing out on my annual Spring Training trip and my planned road trip to the Chicago & Cardinal series.
However, I am grateful to God that I will likely make a full recovery and not have to be "designated for assignment".
Of course, I will have some pinch hitters to get my desired giveaways and said pinch hitter woulld likely
be willing to pick up extras for NRAF'ers.
The A's season ticket office, actually were very, very nice to me, as they always are and offered to work with me once I am called up. I don't believe this particular representative was just trying to hold onto a paying customer.
Anyway, it'sgoing to be weird to not be at the ballpark and to technically not be a season ticket holder. But, I plan on holding onto my moniker.
I have also been disposing of my individual Warrior tickets for free right & left as I am focusing on my health. I may have a few tickets leftover here & there if anyone is interested. I have a very good lower bowl seat.
My final word is a piece of advice. If your physician recommends preventive health screenings or tests, by all means do it. It could conceivably save your life, as it did mine.
Affectionately,
Jeannifer

I'm very sorry to hear that
Here’s to you experiencing no setbacks on the way back to the majors and many productive years afterwards. Get well soon.

Yes, take care
and at least you can watch almost the games on tv. Do you have HD tv? So then you can hook that puppy up to the stereo surround, while cooking hot dogs on the stove and fry up some fries and toss some garlic on them, then make sure to spill some beer on the carpet to get that good ol’ stale beer smell going around the house and it will be just like you were at the game!
Ooo! Piece of candy!

Your outlook is awesome.
You’ll get better and be back at the coli in no time. Here’s to a speedy recovery! Go A’s!

I hope your recovery is swift....
And thanks for the good advice concerning screening. I plan on taking it to heart.

very sorry to hear about your health issues
I wish you all the best in dealing wth them, and for a full recovery!
I second the message about getting regular checkups and dealing with minor problems before they become major. I recently went through a series of tests and came out mostly fine, but with two red flags that I need to watch. So I’ve begun to deal with those right away.
at least they put you on the DL immediately
and didn’t let you languish for awhile hurt and then make it retroactive.
Get well!

I am sorry that you have to deal with this,J.
Take good care of yourself and keep in touch with us here on AN.
I'm really sorry to hear about your illness, Jeannifer.
It seems the A’s propensity for injury/illness extends all the way to the fans. I hope you get well soon. And if you have any extra Warriors tickets, I would love to go to a game. Go A’s!

Monday and Wednesday are virtually impossible for me.
Fridays and weekends would be ideal. If that’s not possible, it’s not a big deal. Thanks, and I really do hope you get better soon.

I would be willing to take any Warrior tickets off your hands J.
Even though the W’s suck I still am a diehard and if it helps you out I can pay you for any tickets you want to get rid of. The most important thing, of course, is your health and I wish you a speedy recovery. Best wishes and I’ll leave you my email so you can contact me about tix…..Cheers!

Btw,
what’s up with all this talk about trading Monta, I don’t understand it? I don’t follow the dubs, but I do know he is good, and saw him in person play my 6ers last week; that dude was electrifying. And I was stunned that he didn’t make the AS team.
dood, I've come to the conclusion that you're just a dumb*ss.

Talk to David Stern my good man.....
he insists that Chris Kaman was a solid pick as was Jason Kidd.
Monta was injured come All Star Break, though. He definitely would have added some flash and excitement for the West for sure…

The ticket office
may be the most functional operation located inside the Coliseum at this point in time. Great to know that customer service isn’t dead. Get well soon and return as soon as possible!!!

Think about it this way. Now you will have more time for game threads.

Thank you all for your well wishes and Mikev
I have a very good training staff.
OMG, I spoke to the A’s season ticket holder’soffice on Friday and today I received a handwitten get well card signed by the entire staff.
They have the Wariors & Raiders beat hands down.

That's very nice of them, and super fast
I wanted to add, I can’t imagine not being able to go out to the ballpark for any reason.

Take good care of yourself!!! Here's hoping you CAN go back to games in the latter part of the season.
Please be sure to come post with us on the game threads!! I think you are used to attending most games so we don’t see you here on games days…..but we have fun here, too!
I hope you get well soon!

More time for you to be at AN? You get to see replays and listen to Korach in the comfort of your own home?
Will miss you at the tailgates, too.
Take care of yourself!
Hey Get Well soon...I hope that everything goes fine and that you get better...
I will miss seeing you at the games, I always enjoy our conversations and wish you the best and hopefully you will be able to make it out in August as you said, while we are in the heat of the pennant race : )
And so who is going to bring Chicken Wings to the AN Tailgates now?
There is no A in OFFENSE!!
Sending good thoughts your way
Hope to see you soon, all fixed up and better than new.
Losing this team would be a huge failure for this city and an affront to Oakland’s great sports legacy.
So sorry to hear this, Jeannifer
And yes, we will miss the wings…. But I look forward to seeing you on the game threads if you feel up to it! Hope your restricted schedule is not too annoying.

Jeannifer, you are an wonderful and thoughtful person
I just let my boys know. You will be in our prayers.
Stay strong. And keep rooting on those A’s – they need you.
Hey Easy,
tell your boys hello for me. I’ve already spoken with the girl who got them the backpacks last year and she has offered to do the same again this year.

All the best
Whatever the bad news, I’m glad to hear about the likelihood of a full recovery.
"Smokey, this be not the foul jungles of the darkest East Orient. This be ninepins. We are bound by laws."
What what thoughtful folks on this board.
My pinch hitter will be at Opening Night and will get me an A’s magnetic schedule. Anyone else want one and unbale to attend the game? E-mail me and we can discuss the particulars.
I’ll get back to those who stated an interest in the Warrior tickets.

You will be in my family's prayers....
I was in a similar situation 2 years ago and was unable to attend games. But the great people on this site helped me along and I was so grateful. Everyone at AN wish you nothing but the best and to a healthy, speedy recovery! God Bless!

Yes....God bless J.

Hi again Jeannifer! If you have any left over tics to Warriors or A’s let me know. I would be happy to compensate you for them.

That's terrible
Hope you make a speedy recovery. Let me know if I can be of help in getting you some of the free giveaways. It will give me an excuse to go to the games since I didn’t renew my season ticket package this year due to fiscal constraints.
dood, I've come to the conclusion that you're just a dumb*ss.
