Forget Beltre - how about Beltran?

Personally, I'm quite glad that Crawford went to the Red Sox. This allows the Angels to sign the vastly overrated Beltre, which really causes me to lose no sleep at night.

Ran into this article through ESPN which I think would be very interesting - the writer suggests that the Mets GM Alderson should hook up with BB and come up with a package that will bring Beltran to Oakland. You can read the article here:

If the Mets agree to pay half the contract, and if the A's gave up say a Tyson Ross, I would be more than satisfied with the trade. There are concerns with his knee, but they wouldn't be as much of a problem if he DH'd, which I would absolutely love, because he's an EXCELLENT base runner. Plus we wouldn't be giving up too much if he had some spot starts in the OF.

Honestly, after losing out on Berkman(thank god) and Konerko(awww), I would put Beltran at the top of my wish list for Beane to pursue. Look, if this guy is healthy, and he's saying he is, he is a PREMIER player in this game, and I think this still holds true at 33. People sleep on this guy because he went to the Mets and the Mets have proceeded to become a joke, but his stats when he was at the top of his game are elite. I would put him at 1, with Matsui at 2 and Bad Vlad at 3, in terms of who I would like to get this off-season(realistically).

Make it happen BB.
