Hello Athletics Nation, I am a Yankee fan wondering about Gio Gonzalez's status. As you well know (or not) the Yankees have been rather quiet except for the big signing of Luis Vizcaino yesterday. The Yankees are in need for a 3rd or 4th starter and I've heard Gio's name lately in rumors. Read on for some question I have about him and whether he is tradeable.
Now I know you guys have bolstered your starting pitching and bats and writers are saying you could be the Texas Rangers of 2011. I am aware of Trevor Cahill and how he is basically untouchable. Brett Anderson is high on their radar too. So I have been looking at potential underrated pitchers the Yankees can acquire and on the cheap. Basically without dealing Jesus Montero, the killer B's, or Romine. So I ask you guys... How has Gio pitched with the A's? Would you trade him? What would you want for him (in the Yankees system or roster)?
Thanks for reading A's fans. I am looking to make a fanpost at Pinstripe Alley either tonight or tomorrow deciding how many comments I get by tonight. I might be including some of the comments over here too. Thanks for reading and I look forward to your responses. Good Luck this season!
