According to a tweet from his agent Don Nomura, the A's have submitted the top bid -- rumored to be in the neighborhood (hint: it's a pricey neighborhood) of $16 million -- for the services of Japan's stud starter Hisashi Iwakuma, and may now commence to hammering out a deal with him.  In other words, Billy Beane and Co. got off their hands right quick this offseason because when the SF Giants have stolen 99.9999% of your thunder, it's time to get serious.  It's speculated that acquiring this guy will free up BB to move surplus arms for sticks, so let's discuss this most bold move... the opening salvo of what we all hope will be a landmark winter for the Green-n-Gold braintrust in the front office.
