2010 Fielding Bible Awards - Daric Barton
Among some head-scratching, Daric Barton was named the best defensive player at first base for the 2010 seaon. He dethrone Pujols who held it for four years.
I understand why some people may question it. But I find myself, and I really can't say I have bias because I love Pujols as a player, being okay with this.

20 runs sounds about right
just think how good he will be next year, (without all the early season E’s)

You can attribute some of the errors on his broken finger
Barton apparently was a little upset that Mark Ellis chastised him about focusing on walking over being more aggressive on hitter counts. I predict more balls in play at the expense of a few walks next year.
Cool!

I did a really quick and dirty tally of the top teams and came up with this:
391 St Louis (34 from FA Westbrook)
377 A’s
308 Rays (86 from FA Crawford)
275 Phillies (44 from FA Werth)
273 Reds
271 Seattle
245 New York
196 Rockies
173 Boston
150 Texas
85 Baltimore
Why would there be head scratching? Barton is fantastic defensively.

Pam liked my old sig better.
I don't know why.
I know how good of a defensive player Barton is. But reading some of the reactions from others, they seemed very miffed as to how Pujols didn’t win it.
