Has the Blue Ribbon Panel result been leaked?
And if so, did anyone see this coming? Fremont back on the table? Wow. I can live with this location if this is all true:

New BART station nearby. 2015 projected opening at this point.
MLB must want no part of the Giants and the territorial rights stuff. Not that I can blame them for that. Of course Fremont again will cause all kinds of people to kick and scream, and they'll be starting from scratch.

That was unexpected.
I’m pretty ignorant about most of what has been going on, but how is this supposed to have avoided the shitstorm of the last proposed site in Fremont? I like that there’s a pedestrian bridge from BART.
In any case:
Commissioner Bud Selig last year formed a committee to determine if viable locations in the East Bay exist for a new A’s ballpark. The commission is scheduled to present its findings later this month, Fremont officials said.
I wouldn’t make to much of it until we hear from the commission.
I've been in traffic in this spot more times than I'd like to say...
If they build there – let’s hope they include a plan for a MUCH improved traffic flow! No BART there yet – is this the proposed Warm Springs station???
yup - which is set to open in 2014
more details about the potential fremont site – http://newballpark.org/2010/01/08/the-return-of-fremont/
Yes it includes a BART station
It’s a great spot, especially with no more NUMMI plant. Access to 680 and 880!
Doubt it
And I honestly doubt this site will ultimately be viable considering the shit storm that ensued about a site in the same area last year.
Also, it is known that the committee (it’s not a Blue Ribbon Panel) met with Fremont and subsequently with San Jose.
Oakland first
The Fremont, then San Jose.
It’s hard not to read into all this stuff considering that the original objective was to find a spot in Alameda and Contra Costa and the info gathering apparently ended in San Jose.
San Jose Giants suddenly get uniforms? Nice timing
"The new San Jose Giants uniform reflects not only the name but now the colors of the parent organization," said Bobby Evans, San Francisco Giants Vice President of Baseball Operations. "We are proud that the San Jose front office is giving our players a chance to wear the black and orange!"

This conversation has been going on for years, seriously impacting our ability to plan, fund and execute a long term redevelopment plan for Municipal Stadium. The uncertainty of the A’s has also resulted in financial setbacks, including our inability to sell Municipal Stadium naming rights because we cannot offer a long term contract to the sponsor. We could probably figure out how to hold on and continue to piece this facility together every year, but resolving the A’s issue would be the most direct way to move forward, one way or another.
this is great news...
nothing is impossible, i just hope that the NIMBYs won’t ruin this plan (again)

Just a last ditch "oh shit, we shouldn't have let them leave after NUMMI closure"
…by Fremont to have something to replace the revenue stream that will be gone this coming April. Just mere coincidence that they would make it the A’s, since the same roadblocks will be there as the Warm Springs site..

Except this time NUMMI won't be
the business most vocally opposing the increased traffic.

Yeah, I'll bet Lew Wolff's stadium-condo plan would
find lots of buyers in Vegas!
