Green should be in high A
Considering 3 years of college ball. Next year its a half season of A then AA. AAA in 2011 and satrting in majors in 2013.

2 years in AAA?
i think he could be up by mid-season 2011, starting in 2012 if everything goes according to plan, barring injury of course.

I believe it was a hamstring tweak
It wasn’t supposed to be serious but I wouldn’t expect see him again untill the AFL starts up.

Ian Krol made a relief appearance for Vancouver
Also, I really like that Ryan Ortiz kid. He was a stud at powerhouse Oregon State. Very solid player, who I see as very similar to Kurt Suzuki. Nothing that really makes you go “wow” but solid across the board.
I think we are very strong at the catcher position all the way through, with Kurt and Powell, Donaldson, Stassi, Ortiz, and possibly Gallaraga if he’s still around.
You know things are bad when Bobby Crosby doesn't have the lowest batting average of any starter, yet he's hitting .138. Yes, you're 2009 Oakland Athletics.

I like Ortiz as well
But I don’t know that I see him being all that similar to Suzuki. It’s hard to draw too many conclusions when Ortiz doesn’t have many pro at bats but what makes him interesting to me is his outstanding walk rate and BB/K rate as well as the power he is showing. He walks as much as he K’s and is putting up a .179 ISO in his first taste of pro-ball in what has been a traditionally tough park to hit for power in. Offensively he seems to more closely resemble Josh Donaldson to me.
I’m not sure how he rates defensively but I don’t think there was anybody questioning his ability to stick at catcher when he was drafted. I think he has had a few passed balls this season which is worth keeping an eye but came in too small of a sample size to raise genuine concern.

Nice to see so many of this years draftees playing ball
I think Green is where he should be with three years of collage under his belt. I agree we have impressive depth at C but I would wait before trading away any of the big three, (Zook Powell & Donaldson) as the rest are couple years away. With all the Grant Green hype I did not see one time where some one said Chris Carter, (Black Jesus?).

I loved that movie

Dogma
had a rather impressive list of talent in it:
Salma Hayek
Alan Rickman
Chris Rock
Matt Damon
Ben Affleck
George Carlin
plus Jay and Silent Bob, and the main character, who I forget who actually played her.

It was also a really good movie.

Any relation to extremely-briefly-an-Athletic Jeff?
I remember those days… 1.000 batting average, baby…
He actually had a decent year this season in AAA, but I suppose he’s getting a little long in the tooth to be considered an actual prospect.
