I would find this culturally insensitive
but it’s just so awesome

Thanks, cityplANner...
Of course I would never intentionally offend Kurt Suzuki… our fearless leader behind the plate…
doer of good deeds in the community… a man who really should have a capital C on his jersey like Varitek does.
What was insensitive, however, happened to Suzuki at the 2006 FanFest at the Coliseum… True story…
In a session of “Ask the A’s” where players were on stage to take questions from the crowd, a fan asked Suzuki about the upcoming season opener in Japan versus the Red Sox.
Fan: “Are you looking forward to returning to Japan to play baseball?”
Suzuki: “I’m looking forward to GOING to Japan to play baseball. I’ve never been there before… I’m from Hawaii.”
A few scattered “boo’s” came from the crowd of fans when they heard this question to Kurt… Obviously the fan assumed that because Kurt shares the same last name as Ichiro, they were both Japanese.
Now THAT’S culturally incensitive. I just put his face on the Hawaiian Punch dude from the old commercials.
Glad you like it.

I didn't notice at first
but his name is imprinted into the bat. Nice touch.
