Kilby got the three strikeouts but also gave up two hits and a walk before whiffing the last two to escape any damage.

Carter’s 2for5 was super weak. A broken bat single that snuck through the left side, and a blooper off the handle that dropped in over the 2b.

It does show the value of being strong, though

He muscled one ball through and then benefited from the OF playing deep on the other.
