Corey Wimberly
How has this guy been doing this year?
I saw him in spring training earlier this year and liked what I saw (and the green and gold stirrups).. but obviously this was an incredibly small sample size.

Good Average, Decent On Base, NO Power
He’s Cliff Pennington with a better avg.

He's also in his third full season at AA...
I don’t think he has much of a future besides backup infielder and pinch runner.
If you think Billy Beane is a bad GM, I hate you and find you stupid.

And Matt Murton is probably just as good as Scott Hairston.....

A Tale of Two Coreys
No, not Brown and Wimberley.
Early season Wimberley and late season Wimberley. Or Wimberley before and after this season’s long DL.
Pre – DL Wimberley : 69AB, 348/458/435/893OPS, 12BB, 6SO, 9/10SB.
Post-DL Wimberley: 167AB, 287/342/317/660OPS, 9BB, 17SO, 8/14SB.
When I saw some Midland games back in April, Corey Wimberley was the sparkplug for the team. A tremendous lead-off batter sporting that .435 OBP, he drove opposing pitchers to distraction as he stole his way around the bases at will. A better LF than SS on defense, I thought he was on the fast track to Oakland. So much energy! Amazing quickness and speed.
Then he got hurt, was out for over two months, and now is not even close to what he was early on. Wimberley is trying too hard to get a hit, and striking out instead of walking. He now gets thrown out about as often as getting the steal. I don’t know what happened, but it makes me sad because this guy was electrifying early in the year.

Hopefully, there's also just a physical element of a weakened wrist,
and he’ll revert back next year to the player he showed he can be pre-injury. I like that scenario a lot better than the notion that he’ll never be that guy again.

Great start from Ross
I didn’t like Sickels’ write up of Ross. He mentions that Ross had no idea where the ball was going. Hopefully he is turning a corner this year.

Cardenas at SS again
I really do wish he could stick there. If Cardenas could stick at SS, Wallace at 3B and Weeks at 2B, thats a hell of an infield if you put Carter at 1B.
Granted, its a poor defensive infield, but still an offensive powerhouse.

I would love that infield till Grant Green was ready.
If he pans out of course.
"Carter's 25-game hitting streak isn't any normal streak. He's 46 for 97 (.474 average) during the run, adding 16 walks and compiling 81 total bases in the process. I'm out of superlatives for what he's doing." - Kevin Goldstein

Will carter be a outfielder?
Wallace at 1st and Carter in right? Looks like the A’s are experimenting with that.

I wouldnt be shocked to see Carter in LF.

Any ground ball gets through that infield.

Reports on Weeks suggest he has good glove work.
Eventually, my colleague and I trotted from the two-bit seats to the three-bit seats to get a closer view of the action. - Jlaff on Turn Back the Clock Day

What stands out to me from the photos I've seen,
though I have to see him in person to know if this is accurate, is that in general he isn’t that large — specifically I mean his torso, midsection, etc. don’t look like they have much “fat” on them — but more that he has “huge circumference” legs. This is in contrast to Tommy Everidge or Landon Powell, guys who are clearly not all that mobile due to their weight/size.
