AN Day, and the possible Bart Strike

Just a quick reminder that because of the potential Bart strike, some folks planning to drink N*+1 margaritas need to be sure they don't rely on public transit for safe returns.   So think designated drivers, and such.  Even arrange it here, ahead of time.

Kurt Suzuki thanks you ahead of time

( Where N is the number that lynnzgal drinks, unless you are lynnzgal.  If you suddenly discover you are lynnzgal, you have reached your limit, unless you were her at the start of the day.  )

Picture QOTM

Dating girls is like starting pitching depth, you think you have a good full rotation, even too many starters, then in an instant as soon as you trade your depth away injuries decimate your rotation and you are forced to start Sidney Ponson.

Hey!

Lol! Actually, I would be happy to be a designated driver. No problem.

If the strike is going on next weekend, we might want to coordinate carpools/bus meetups.

Although, can you imagine the AN Day pre-party on AC Transit? Wow….

I'd also note,

that depending on where you’re going, public transit may still be an option even if BART’s not running.

I'd be more worried about the Yankees games than AN Day

Not saying Yankees fans are loud, obnoxious drunks, but, um, yeah….

And there are fireworks after AN Day, so by the time people are heading home (on AC Transit), it will have been a while since they imbibed…

Of course, there's usually grass on the field for the fireworks

if BART is still on strike that day

I will probably leave my car at my season ticket buddy’s home, and we’ll drive to the game together. The time I arrive of course doesn’t depend on me, so that will probably impact whether/when I come to the AN tailgate.

On a serious note

Thanks very much for your post. The strike, if it occurs, will make life hell for many Bay Area natives and out-of-area commuters alike. It may also affect the already poor attendance at A’s games, and have an economic impact as well, should it go on any length of time. Let’s all hope it is averted.
Anyway, I think it is a sign that you are an exceptional person that you would post this reminder. Many people would not think about this possible effect until it was too late. Hopefully, the message will get across. Thanks again!

Remember, wherever you go...there you are!

cause as a designated drunk

sadly, you leave a lot to be desired, if pictures don’t lie.

Confirmed and also reported on Channel 5 news.

That’s great news for ALL of us using Bay Area roadways!!
