About an inning ago, I saw Gio twisting from side to side,
like his back was stiff. I hope that’s all that might be going on. His velocity was also down from 92-93 MPH to 89 MPH, but to Scott it was back up, so hopefully he’s ok. He’s pitching so well right now.

That's exactly how I felt when I got the flu earlier this year.
Kaiser swears it wasn’t H1N1, but they’re not really testing for it either.
skigurl: Buy that man a Swatch!
Which Kaiser?
I was just dealing with the advice nurse over the phone. It wouldn’t have mattered much – they are treating them all the same unless your symptoms worsen, at which point they could actually tell if it is H1N1. My symptoms didn’t get worse, I just had them for a realllllllly long time.
skigurl: Buy that man a Swatch!
I of course was talking about which emperor of the German/Austrian/
Austro-Hungarian empire you had conversed with.
That said, they’re doing the same over here with the H1N1 stuff – i.e. unless you’re dying they’re pretty much ignoring people.

Wikipedia says:
A game that cannot continue due to weather or darkness may be considered a completed official game, as long as at least five innings have been completed. Until 1991, any such game in which a pitcher held the opposing team without hits was considered an official no-hitter; however under the current rule, a no-hitter must last for at least nine innings to count. As the rule was applied retroactively, thirty-six games in which a no-hitter was interrupted by weather or darkness, with lengths ranging from 5 to 8 innings, are no longer considered no-hitters.
that seems unfair.

gallagher vs gio
they were handled very simiilar, both struggled with their initial callups…you could argue gallagher was more impressive than gio last yr. SO why was one dumped and the other given a hane to faial and later do well. Seemed like they showed more patience with gio
I actually requested
hane to faial for X-Mas but did I get one? Nooooo.

Woo!
It was baseball day at work today! We all got the afternoon off to go to the Kernels game, and to hit the Stadium Lounge afterwards. Are we winning? Yes? All right! I have to sleep now.

Love that our commercials used to feature Giambi, Nomar, Cabrera,
now it’s Rajai, Kennedy, Suzuki.
