Rickey's Induction and Bill King
So I am an ignoramus... I can't figure out how to post an image here. If you are interested in seeing the t shirt/downloading the picture go to www.rememberingbillking.com and it is available or email me)
Rickey and Bill. Probably my two favorite people associated with the A's over the course of my fandom. There have been many great players (Everyone from Mark McGwire to Tim Hudson) and talented broadcasters (Lon Simmons, Greg Pappa, Dick Stockton, Monte Moore, Ken Korach, etc.). But none of these people have been as good at what they do as Rickey and Bill, in my opinion.
I am hoping on seeing many of you in New York City, Cooperstown and Boston at the end of the month. I am hoping many of you will do Bill King asmall favor and wear a DIY "Bill King in the Hall" t shirt along with me.
It's very simple... got to craft store, buy some iron on transfers (10 for 10 bucks at Michael's). Get a t shirt and iron on the image that is posted at www.rememberingbillking.com.
Congrats Rickey! Let's get the guy who made so many great calls about Rickey and his teammates honored at a future date.
(thanks to Leopold Bloom for schooling me, the image is in the comments)

I hardly need to tell you that that would make an awesome poster
Well done.

Pro-tip: Throw a pixel or two of contrasting stroke on the text.
Black around white, and white around black. It makes it so much easier to read when in front of a picture. If it’s there, you don’t notice it, if it’s not there, your eyes know something is wrong.
And I would hope that instead of that as a poster, the poster would say “Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame 2009.”

it's shadowed with black.
The outline made it weird-looking.
Wait. Pros get paid, right? I’m a pro.

Without it though, it looks weird around the white KNBR behind the white text.
one pixel shouldn’t be grossly noticeable by the eye, just
Not that I’m a pro or anything. I’ve spent more than my share of time in Photoshop though. Too much, maybe.

Except that Bill King was not the voice of God.
That would be Roy Steele, the PA announcer who announced the vast majority of Oakland line-ups since 1968. Bill King was the man, but I don’t like misapplying a moniker that belongs to another Oakland great.

I was thinking about the patch and pin.

If I was going,
And we’re talking bucket list, I would find a way to wear that.

Great idea
Wish that I’d be up there to join you guys. I’ve got my patch on my Jersey, and always think of Bill when I put it on.
I hope your idea catches on — I think I’ll make myself a t-shirt! :)
