DLD 7/14/09 Watch the best softballers before the softest best ballers

Looking for a better softball game than the celebrity "classic" 2009? Here is the full episode of Homer at the Bat. That's what they're singing about in the video above. It's the championship match between Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and Shelbyville Nuclear Power Plant, and the All Stars of yesteryear have come out in droves. Jose Canseco was going to play, but he was busy saving everything in a house from a fire. This was from a time before people were hating on him all the time. Speaking of being pissed, it is no longer illegal to relieve yourself at Yankee Stadium during the seventh-inning stretch. But why would you ever leave your seat when you're at the game with Bill James and Joe Posnanski? Okay, that won't happen, but you can get a taste of what it would be like when you read a discussion between Bill and Joe about the lost luster of the All-Star Game. Compare with this, the worst baseball blog ever. Maybe the lost luster has something to with this gimmick: Obama to join Fox broadcast booth for All-Star Game

Finally, before you link all over, share with me a fond memory of a friend not soon forgotten. I'll miss you Jack.

Yay - an ASG DLD

I am so thankful that this happened after my trip back east. If you’re a flight geek like me, you can get the tracking log here.

Selig rejects accusation baseball owners colluded

Is the relationship that tight amongst baseball owners that they’d pass on a player the hypothetically could help their team at the right cost?

Call me skeptical. It likely has to do with many over priced and injury prone players on the market who are asking way more than what the likely market price is.

And this whole time I thought it was simply that SB Nation was giving me the chance to comment

on either the little turny things over the baby’s crib, or the old cheap gas stations around town…

It's the YouTubes

It does it to me at the browser at work. Any time there’s a YouTube embedded in the post, something fails to finish loading, so the C, X, Z don’t kick in. I don’t know, maybe my computer is missing some plug-in or whatnot, but it’s not up to me to dink with the office software. Should be fine at home.

Meanwhile, it’s annoying when I’m here. Just say no to embedded YouTubes in FanPosts. Make a link instead. It is the DLD, after all, not the DYTD.

It's just too hard iglew

I tried to kick the youtube habit, but I couldn’t. I’d make I link, but what if you didn’t click it. WHAT IF YOU DIDN’T? You’d never see the vid. I can’t risk it. I just can’t. So I kept putting video back in. I didn’t even stop at one vid. I put two in one post! Oh man. Okay, I have a problem. I admit it. Anyone know a good Posters Anonymous chapter I can go to for help?

Dude, if I'm at work, I don't see the vid anyway.

Actually, if I’m at home I almost never watch a YouTube vid either. And the Simpsons one I’ve seen on TV plenty of times.

It's possible that you still have the Youtube selected

Try clicking outside the embedded videos then see how it goes for ya

I'm pretty sure I've tried that

but I’ll check again at work. (Yes, I’m still home at 11:30. So sue me, I keep strange hours.)
