Around SBN: Gary Carter, Mets All-Time Great Catcher, Has Died

6/30 Minor Athletics

After watching yesterday's game, I was really happy to see Ellis back in an A's uniform. He is easily one of my favorite players. I hope he can sustain himself on the field and keep from injury. He truly is a human vacuum over there at second and he seems to be a spark for the team. Here are the results from yesterday's games:

It shouldnt be too long.

Hes been out a while.

Release!!!

The A’s are out of it, they are unproductive, and they need to know what they have in the guys playing in Sacto.

Crosby and Nomar are useless and thus should be released.

Its Money Penny time

please dump crosby/cabrera, pennington needs an audition for 2010
he might be a short term fix tll grant green, but he’s probably their best in house option ready anytime soon.

hitting .290+ since may/june, steals a ton of bases. he cant be any worse than the options at the mlb level.

WANT.

Although he looks a lot like Orlando Hudson in the face and blackness.

Doesn't look like the A's are going to make a big splash

But there have been rumblings that they are active in the mid-tier positional prospect market. The best bet seems to be 3B Wilfredo Solano from Venezuela who could get a mid to high six figure bonus. The A’s have also been linked prominently to LHP Edgar Ferrera and SS Jean Carlos Batista.

A's signed three Venezuelans

They did indeed sign Solano and added SS William Jose “Junior” Martinez" and OF Alfred Alejandro Sosa. I don’t know much about the second two as they haven’t been mentioned among the top international prospects.

All non-Crosby/Nomar players look good in those colors.

Crosby, on the other hand, looks good in red and white with a halo on top.
