6/7 Minor Athletics

Did anyone catch Buster Olney on Sports Center describing a team to watch? He mentions the A's and their young starters. It was awesome. He mentioned that Anderson and Cahill were turned down for a rental house because the owners were concerned about two 21 year-olds and the party's. Don't know the accuracy behind that--but it was nice to see the A's young starters mentioned again, reminded me of a few years ago.

Gilbert LF-CF: 4-4, R, 3 RBI  .335 BA  This guy is absolutely scorching. Batting .432 over his last 10 and .500 for the month. Love his BB:K ratio 26:16  I think he'll be brought up in the next month if he can keep this up. He has nice value right now.

Carter 1B: 0-1, R, 3 BB

Sulentic RF: 2-3, R, 2 2B

Spencer RF-LF: 2-4, 2 R, 2B, 3B Has anyone seen him? Does he hit the ball on a line. I noticed that he doesn't strike out that much at all. Only 26 on the season in 182 AB.

Godfrey (W, 5-4) 7 IP, 7H, ER, 0 BB, 2 K  3.66 ERA  Has really pitched well his last 3 starts. After a rough start in April, Graham put up a nice May going 3-1 and 2.94 ERA. In June he's 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA.

Benacka and Hunton pitched 2 innings with 5 Ks.

That was fun. I'm enjoying Weeks right now. I am super excited about tomorrow. My heart wants a 1st Rnd pick to be a powerful hitter, but I get this feeling we're going to take a pitcher.
