Open Thread: Game 74 - A's vs. Rockies

Colorado Rockies at Oakland Athletics, Jun 28, 2009 1:05 PM PDT

The "Yee haw, put in your hours and it's ice cream for everyone!!!" crew is at it again, sending Vin Mazzaro to the hill against Aaron Cook. The A's have made bad pitchers look good so far this weekend, so maybe they can make a good pitcher look bad.

Because he hates me, 67MARQUEZ informed me this morning that in 12 Sundays this season, the A's will have now spent 6 of them trying to avoid a sweep. Oakland's record so far in these exciting broompreventionfests is 2-3.

Here's today's group of players assigned to make me feel like kicking innocent puppies:

Kennedy at 3rd

the experiment begins. This just came yo my mind, I wonder how Kurt could handle 3rd. I know he is more valuable at C b/c the way he handles the staff but just a thought. He is very quick and agile behind the plate.

I'm still surprised my the top diary slot: Korach

If it were me I’d burn the disc and blast it in the A’s clubhouse for 5-10 minutes. Not hard to do.

I have been a sincere loyal fan of this team for 40 years, yes indeed, and I remember games with less that 1,000 in the stands, late 70’s. We’ve been low before, yes.

That seemed like plain lack of talent, not the mental squandering we see here, the disgusting lack of honor in even not paying attention to the very basics of the game.

I’m fucking serious, get it together mentally for the fans and the game today, now, or bring up all of the Rivercat squad, it’s too much of an insult to everyone. Especially the game of baseball.

Some of the gameplay is a little iffy in spots...

…as you can spend some time playing medic or being ‘revived’ but I love the story so far, the writing, the humor and so on. It’s easy to feel like you’re in the middle of a third movie not long after the sequel.
