Looking for a Rare Item

I am looking for a 1989 World Series Sweat Shirt.

I know this sounds really random, but here is the story...

My sister-in-law was 5 years old in 1989. Shortly after the World Series she was wearing her 89 World Series sweat shirt when she crossed the street and was hit by a car. She was badly injured and the EMTs had to cut the sweat shirt off her in order to save her life. Fortunately for me and my family, she was saved and is very healthy and happy today. But every once in a while she talks about that sweat shirt and says how much she wishes she had a new one.

When my brother and I went to the game on Tuesday, we decided we really needed to put forth some effort to find her a new 89 World Series sweat shirt.

So I am coming to you all. You never cease to amaze me at your ability to track down rare A's memorabilia. I have already checked E-bay with no luck. I am hoping someone will be able to point to a place where I might be able to find such an item.

Thanks a bunch for your help!!

Good luck in your search!

I just spent a bit of time looking for something, and I came across a Giants ‘89 sweatshirt

sorry, I can’t link for some reason.
If I were you I would try to contact the seller and see if he/she could locate an A’s sweatshirt, or see if they know where you could possibly try and find one.
I wish you all the luck in the world and I will continue to look in hopes of finding some more info!

You can try giving this guy a call

Athletics Galore

It’s a big warehouse in the Benicia Industrial Park. The owner is a pack rat (and not very organized). A while back I was browsing around, looking for A’s items and it turns out he had a few boxes in the back that were never opened. He decided to look inside and found 1989 Battle of the Bay t-shirts, along with Canseco and McGwire A’s shirts. It was like a time capsule. I’m not sure if he had sweatshirts however.

Good luck

Hmm. I saw the title

and was going to direct you as to where you could find an A’s hit.

Actually, I have no idea about that anyway.

I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal

Actually, being BobbyCrosbysGirl,

she was probably looking for a hit.

She was probably looking for a hit?

So, what’s the likelihood that her path will coss with Dan Haren’s in this quest?
