DSL WATCH: Reynaldo Mateo C: This 19 year old has been on a tear lately, batting .500 over his last 10 games. One thing that sets him apart from the rest is his patience. He has a 9:11 K:BB ratio in this early season. We'll keep an eye on how he develops over the next few months.

What you fail to understand in your joyless myopia is that baseball is the key to life-- the Rosetta Stone, if you will. He was hitting at such an amazing rate for much of the season.
He’s probably just naturally regressing a little, rather than not hitting well because of the move to third.

I always hear that thrown around but I’ve never seen an actual study that shows a strong correlation between position change and offensive regression.

I dont have data
but i could see why that might happen. You are learning a position and focusing more on Defense than Offense during practice
