Read the whole thing
Really liked it, and I can imagine how it would have looked. I’m just wondering what they did in the re-write that resulted in the project getting canned.

It may never happen...
And all the usual suspects will rip it— treatment of Art Howe; Jeremy’s arrival out of order; the Cleveland scene where he “steals” DePodesta, which is almost certainly a plot invention; and the Morgan critique at the end being “accurate” to all the traditionalists.
And no, it probably wouldn’t be a big box office success.
But that my friends is a great script. I know someone who knows Soderbergh pretty well— am going to try to find out what really happened.

Damn, this script is good.
I’d definitely watch it.

totally a good script
and I could see this being a movie. I cant tell though if I like because I know and care about all names involved or if it was just a purely compelling story.

Wow
I was never too excited over the movie because I didn’t see how they could take that book and make it into a movie but I just finished reading the script and I really liked it. I know there were probably some historical inaccuracies and the characters were more or less caricatures of the real people but man, I think that script would have made a really good movie.

I'm liking it
but it’s not very loyal to the book/actual events.

Better than expected
Read the script in one sitting. I thought it was pretty awesome. I feel like it strikes a pretty good balance between storytelling and the statistical/undervalued commodity aspect of the book.

Can anyone send me the script?
I’ve been trying to find a downloadable version online all morning…

Moneyball Poster
Can’t wait to read this script since the movie got dumped. Anybody got some ideas for the
Moneyball movie poster?

I have to imagine
that the dismal failure of Billy’s strategy over the past three years, and especially this year – which is when most of us thought we would actually be good, as well as the inability to land a stadium deal, made this story even less appealing. Imagine if we had won the World Series last year? My guess is the budget for the film would have increased instead of getting slashed or canned altogether.

I'd swap some of those Billy and Art scenes
for Billy and Geren ones
