I like the way Mazzaro wears his sweatshirt.
Stylish.
Also, I feel like his name should be spelled with one z and two r’s. It’s throwing me off.
You’re not the only one. I’ve been spelling it as “Mazarro” all day.

I think his name should be spelled with an m instead of an r
ie, Mazzamo. Then he could join Hannahan and Gallagher in the my-name-starts-with-a-palindrome club.

Mazzaro has a nasty fastball.
It combines Cahill’s movement with Outman’s velocity. I think he had some bad breaks that inning, and he’ll make it six at least.

2. Threw approx. 30 pitches — all of the strikes were fastballs
3. Gave up 2 singles (well-hit line drives), a liner to 2nd for an out, a soft fly ball to RF, and picked Podsednik off 2nd.

how is Bartolo's Colon tonight?

yeah....but he took an ugly swing.
And not anymore.

I love the excitement of a rookie making his debut with
his family in the park. That must be an amazing feeling to see your brother, son or cousin get a shot in the bigs.

we're gonna get such a high draft pick next summer
im stoked
If you had a lineup of 9 Jack Custs who hit(Cust career average) .239 AVG, .382 OBP, and .475 SLG, then your team would score 6.12 runs per game-totalling to 991runs a season. The 08 rangers lead the majors in runs score with 901.
Yep.
A nice safe, pick. Say hello to James Simmons 2.0

Wahoo! Good inning Maz!!
Let’s get more of those 1-2-3 innings by their hitters….
There's no crying in baseball!
Another thing about Mazzaro is that his motion is much more compact and consistent than Cahill's
I can see why people thought he’d be the one who started the year with the A’s.

is mazzaro getting a much smaller strike zone than colon?

I need to get this “we’re always losing” mentality out of my head.

He’s gotta be slower than Molina.

If the CF played shallow
he’d probably be able to get him out 8-3 on a liner that bounced once.
And a LF with a good arm might get him, too.

I guess what I meant to say
is that Mazzaro has given up 3 BB in 3 innings (I know, it’s his first start). Cahill has given up way too many walks. That’s also what holds Gio back, if I’m correct. And Outman’s are pretty bad this year too.
