Wrong type of graphing.

You need a big circle labeled “They are idiots”, two smaller circles within that say “They are actually first” and “They think they are first”.

and now he needs a 5 out save today.

I don't like this move.

You can’t keep bringing your closer in for 5-out saves. Ziggy would have been a good choice here, or stick with Wuertz. Bailey should have the 9th.

Agreed. This is getting silly.

I’m a big Geren critic, but it’s really comical to start blaming him for this game. Is it his fault that Braden got a blister? Are the little bleeder hits the Rangers are getting his fault? His lineup is his lineup. There’s not much he can do.

Can't believe it.

I thought it would have been an implosion once they tied it.

Bailey was just being crafty

Letting them tie it up. He didn’t want a save, he wanted a win for his birthday.

Adam Kennedy should manage the game for the A's

Hell, he can’t be any worse than Geren is. Hell, I couldn’t be worse than Geren. And I didn’t know even Devine was out for the season until today. This is retarded. Geren shouldn’t be fired because the A’s won. He should be fired because he did everything in his power to make the team lose, and they still won anyway.

But he didn’t like it.

That our only two hitting threads come from other teams

Is worthy of a lengthy post that someone should write.

by javaball on May 31, 2009 3:14 PM PDT up reply actions

Yes, I think there is a problem

Our philosophy seems to be producing hitters who can’t hit. Buck, Barton, Swisher, Crosby, Cunningham, and all sorts of other guys who can’t hit in the major leagues with any consistency so far.

by RLangford on May 31, 2009 3:19 PM PDT up reply actions

Holliday

Come on, guys. You look forward to his at bats. I’m sure he’s hitting .300 for the last few weeks.

But Kennedy should immediately be named player-manager.

yep

Wiki: Player-managers

In the United States, player-managers and player-coaches were once common, especially in the early days of baseball. The last player-manager in Major League Baseball was Pete Rose, who began managing the Cincinnati Reds in 1985, the second-to-last season of his playing career…

The A's are No.1, in NOT hitting batters

They’ve beaned only 6, which leads the League. The White Sox are 2nd with 8.
