I was at a wedding all of yesterday and only now, Sunday around noon, do I see that we were spanked yet again. I'm sad. Every post heading seems to read like a self help site. Let's see how our young are doing and hope for some good news.

Barton 1B: 2-3, R, RBI, BB He's turned things around in may. Here is his line in April: 149/274/209--Pretty bad. Now look at May: 277/402/436--Much better. Still not hitting the extra base hits, but seeing the ball much better.
Pennington SS: 2-4, CS (1) Batting .281 on the season. .309 for the month of May, I hope it continues into June. Right now, I'd rather have him at 3rd over anyone on the A's.
Gallagher: 7.2 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 K. Back to back very nice outings. Needs to keep this up for a few more starts. I liked that he pitched to contact in this game. No walks is so very nice to see.
Midland:

Nice little 6-game winning streak right now.
Gilbert LF: 2-7, R, RBI .307
Horton SS: 3-7, 2 R, 2B, RBI
Carter 1B: 3-7, 2 R, 2B, RBI, SO, SB (6) Starting to heat up again. Batting .341 in his last 10 games. Has 52 Ks on the season which is about a 25% K rate for the season. I'll take that as long as the power starts to show up in June. Has 5 HR on the season in 200 AB, but also has 20 doubles.
Donaldson C: 4-6, 2 R, 2 2B, HR, RBI, BB .295 BA WOW, he is hot this month. .450 over his last 10 games. He went from 227/378/379 in April to a line of 340/431/580 in May. If he continues this in June, He might see a call up with Cardenas to AAA.
Brown C CF: 1-5, 2 R, RBI, BB, SO .328
Sulentic RF: 2-5, RBI, 2 SO
Banwart: 4.2 IP, 11 H, 7 ER, 3 BB, 2 K Pretty much his first rough outing on the season. Again, doesn't strike a lot of people out, and gives up about a Hit an inning. Hitters are batting .271 on the season off of him.
Lansford pitched an inning in relief, striking out a batter, while Demel went 2 innings and had 2 K--his ERA is now 0.83

Too many errors
Richard SS: 3-4, 2 R, 3 2B, 2 RBI, BB
Weeks 2B: 1-4, 2 RBI, BB .300 Has 7 RBI in his first 4 games---little surprising that's been able to drive the ball well this early in his season. Keep it up
Keough/Mitchell: Both were 2-4, with 2 R.
Hodsdon: 4.2 IP, 5H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 7 K. Too many baserunner. Nice amount of Ks, and the defense did not help him much.
Kane County:

Barfield RF: 2-4, R, 2B, 2 K Batting .330 on the season. I understand that Barfield is a young guy, but I'd like to see him move up in the order. See what he can do batting behind Coleman. Wouldn't hurt to have him clean-up for a week.
Capra (W, 1-3) 6 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, BB, 7K 4.37 ERA
Some nice performances from yesterday. Midland continues to rake the ball. AA pitchers have a tough time right now with Carter, Cardenas, Donaldson, and Brown all in the middle of the order. Weeks keeps is going as does Coleman. Barton is slowly coming back to life and Gallagher is remembering where the strike zone is located. Go A's.
