Canseco's MMA fight...
I hurt me knee! Say Canseco, as that big foo pounded on his face. What a fall from a once great Oakland great. I still have my "Bash Brother's" poster up (right next to my BO "double trouble") in my garage (don't think the wife would like it up in our room). I always thought Ozzie was the biggest loser but I'm thinking twice about that now.

lucky he wasn't killed
Choi is a legit fighter, though he’s looked like crap since he had surgery to correct his acromegaly. When he fought Fedor, who is probably the greatest fighter in history, Fedor only agreed to the fight if knees were banned. As much as I think Jose is a scumbag, it would have been criminal if Choi had kneed him. He didn’t come that close on the one he tried, but it was close enough. Jose actually took the least amount of damage possible in the fight.
Only in Japan.

Oh God, Jose is pathetic!
I could prove God statistically. Take the human body alone - the chances that all the functions of an individual would just happen is a statistical monstrosity.

José lost obviously but he didn't look as pathetic as you describe..
Is that Embry warming up?....... NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
Canseco's out of his ever loving mind
for stepping into a ring with a pro fighter. He’s lucky he wasn’t destroyed.

I've seen hookers get better.
Wait, I didn’t say that.

Jose's chances with a hooker....
are about the same as those he has in the ring.
With the same results.

Is there NO sympathy for this guy?
I use to worship this guy. I have read all of his books, several times actually, and it baffles me that NO ONE want to cut this guy a little bit of a break. He may have perfected taking steroids, but there were plenty of people taking them without his help. He just became the face of the era (early on) to the owners and some players. Towards the mid-late 90’s he obviously dropped off and couldn’t hit anymore (let alone ever play the field) and was basically blackballed out of baseball. And it was happening while Bonds was shattering records. I don’t buy the racism card for one second… but it was fairly obvious no one wanted him around… at any level. The man had to make money somehow. And for anyone who is enjoying the post-steroid game, we have Jose to thank. Sportscenter is all over the idea of players who have used coming out and apologizing before they are forced to. Jose did this. Completely and unapologetically. Is that why no one cares? Is it because they think he is a “rat” for outing other players? I know there won’t be much a groundswell of support for Jose… but I think there should at least be SOME understanding.
Where's your picket fence, Love?
Oh, I have some level of sympathy for him.
But I would never want the guy as a “friend”. Would you? He played baseball at a high level and made a hell of lot of money doing it. Then when he pissed it all away, he turned on the very people who made his life possible. Nobody ever forced a damn thing on Jose, all of what he did was his own doing. Sure, the owners looked the other way….so did the media, so did the fans. I’ve come to the point where I believe Jose just about anytime he says anything about steroids. I also view him with a measure of contempt for his willingness to throw former friends under the bus for the chance at a few more dollars.
If I have sympathy for anyone in this whole debacle, I’d choose Mac. He did his thing, and then when it all crashed down around him, he left several million dollars on the table and walked away. He’s never said a thing about anyone else. I respect people who take responsibility for themselves and their actions without resorting to deflection tactics.

I somewhat agree...
Yes he was using roids, and yes he didn’t teach even %1 of mlb players how to use roids, but he turned on a botherhood of players not because he thought it was the moral and ethical thing to do, but for money. But I can’t blame the guy, I would have done the same thing to put food on the table for my family. Its just sad to see once great stars in sports like Jose, Mike Tyson (sorry to here about his daughter – horrible) and others fall so far from their once greatness in a sport. I still have plenty of love and understanding for Jose, he isn’t running and hiding like most mlb players
