Yeah. I guess thats ok.

What you fail to understand in your joyless myopia is that baseball is the key to life-- the Rosetta Stone, if you will. If you just understood baseball better all your other questions your, your... the, uh... the aliens, the conspiracies they would all, in their way be answered by the baseball gods.

2. They have no quality food there (though there are rumors now of Gordon Birsch garlic fries)
3. They have a free pizza giveaway that’s not Round Table.
4. The free pizza comes at 10 strikeouts.
5. The free pizza in question, for those of you who remember last season, is full of lies. You have to go to a furniture store and claim a coupon for Papa Johns, and they did an expose where they showed NONE of the Kane’s outlets ever had any vouchers and that it was just an excuse to get you into the building.

Good thing Upton swings at everything.

placing the hopes of the teams offense squarely on his shoulders last year was a bad plan.

It's pretty amazing what this organization has done to Buck.

Tore up the system, promoted him to the bigs at age 22 where he had a fantastic 1/2 season, then toyed with him for most of the next 2 years to the point of him being borderline terrible.

"I’m Joey Devine, I’m what Joba Chamberlain would be if he was good and nobody had ever heard of him."

Agreed

Poor guy must be having a confidence problem because of it and it’s understandable

by Trainman on May 24, 2009 3:27 PM PDT up reply actions

It's the same shit they're doing to Gio and Gallagher.

I just don’t fucking understand it.

Ughhhh

Leave Gio and Gallagher in either AAA or the MLB rotation (not the pen!!!). Give them more than 1 start/appearance before demoting/promoting.

It’s asinine and moronic.

I've changed my mind, Leopold

After watching 2 more hours of this season of Ultimate Fighter, it’s the Americans that are wankers. That Cameron Dollar dude is the essence of douche.

by Joey C. on May 24, 2009 3:28 PM PDT reply actions

Yeah, it's like I said,

they’re all pretty much wankers.

The first thing you gotta think about is what kind of person wants to do that for a living. Occasionally, there are very cool people who have a strong desire to push themselves and see how good they can become (see Anderson Silva). More often than not, though, there’s a lot of ego and testosterone tied up in winning and losing.

Put them in a house together for four weeks with a lot of booze and no women and…well, you get that.

My second… you still read ESPN.com? -grover

by Leopold Bloom on May 24, 2009 3:30 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah, that's what makes the sport so hard to enjoy sometimes

You start rooting for somebody, and then you realize that he’s the same juiced-up moron from high school that picked on all the nerds and manipulated all the girls. That’s why I liked Amir as much as I did— he seemed to actually have a brain in his head.

I swear Anderson Silva is a freak genetic experiment gone wrong. Or really right, one of the two.

by Joey C. on May 24, 2009 3:34 PM PDT up reply actions

But...he's completely humble.

I agree with you. Some of these guys are just scumbag predators who would be locked up otherwise. But some of them are very good people. Another one who I know is a very nice person, who’s very easy to root for, is Miguel Torres.

by Leopold Bloom on May 24, 2009 3:37 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah, totally

I want to make clear that I totally support Anderson Silva. And St. Pierre is a joy to watch and seems very grounded. I even kind of like Forrest Griffin because he has a pretty good sense of humor for a guy who looks like such a meathead. It’s guys like Hughes, Serra, Tito back in the day… those guys piss me off more often than not.

by Joey C. on May 24, 2009 3:40 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah, that's true.

With guys like Lidell though, it’s tougher to tell…

Even though he has one of the ugliest swings I’ve ever seen and seems to always get thrown out trying to stretch singles into doubles after a throw home.

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.

How old is Kennedy?

I know that Ray Fosse told us all earlier that we can’t talk about what we are going to do when Ellis comes back, but hey i’m gonna talk about it anyways. if he keeps hitting, we can not possibly keep him out of the lineup!

There is no A in OFFENSE!!

That's a big if.

If Kennedy keeps hitting like this, he’s hard to replace. If he reverts back to his old self, Ellis’s power gives him a slight advantage offensively.
