Copeland "reassigned" to Stockton Ports
I guess this is considered a rehab assignment, since as a Rule 5 pick he can't be dropped from the 25 man roster without being offered back to the Giants for $25,000.

Hurd reports he was playing last night with Sacto
after 9 abs with Stockton., His future will be debated in the near future as he may have to be sent back to the Giants as he was drafted from them.

Rule 5 Waivers
As long as Copeland remains a Rule 5 claim, any teams that haven’t had a shot at him on the same terms as the A’s have priority over the Giants. For example, if the A’s put Copeland on waivers to clear a space on their 25-man roster, all of the teams that drafted after the A’s in the Rule 5 draft would have a chance to put in a Rule 5 claim on Copeland before the Giants got a chance to buy him back. Copeland can also be traded and I believe there are ways for both the A’s and Giants to get clear title to him (i.e., so they can option him to the minors) without other teams interfering (at least before the trade deadline).
