Alfred G. Rava, International Ladies Man....or Not
Being an Oakland A's season ticket holder, I received a letter in the mail from the Superior Court of Alameda County concerning a suit brought against the A's & Macy's
Seems that the two parties offended Mr. Rava's s sensibilities when on May 8, 2004 in addition to paying tribute to all "moms" in attendance, sponsoring a breast cancer awareness and fundraising program, free mammograms to underserved women in the Bay area including a pre-game 5krun in which all proceeds were donated to the Carol Franc Buck Breast Cancer Fund had the audacity to give reversible bucket hats to the first 7,500 women.
Tha last act frosted Mr. Rava's hide to the extent that he filed a discrimination suit against the A's & Macy's.
A settlement of $510,000 was reached....$260,000 which wnet to the attorneys. the rest will be divided up between 2,500 men who enroll in the settlement. You have to be able to prove 1. you are a male and 2. you attended the game.
"The "Net Settlement Amount" distributable to eligible Class members is expressly set at the specific amount of $250,000. The Net Settlement Amount is comprised of $100 in total value per timely and valid claimant up to a maximum of 2,500 men allocated and paid as follows : $50 in cash, payable first form any unpaid amount of the $260,00 described above and thereafter on 50/50 basis form the A's and macy's (i.e. $25 from the A's and $25 from Macy's and (ii) $50 in script ($25 in A's tickets on a 2 for1 basis and $25 macy's discount coupons "
Whatever that means.
You have to prove that you were one of the fist 7,500 fans to arrive at the game.

you know, with a voodoo doll and a lock of his hair,
we can give HIM breast cancer. that would be just desserts, wouldn’t it?

I prefer strawberry shortcake,
but I’m open to trying new things I guess.
I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal

Screw him
I’ve seen stuff like this before where people bitch and moan because they weren’t able to get a giveaway item. If it’s not complaining about something women get, it’s complaining about something just kids get.
Some people need to get over it and stop wasting money and resources on frivolous crap.

Good catch. That's what I remembered, and Rava was involved with it as well.

Any word on who this guys' scum bag attorneys were? As a member of the CA bar his
attorneys are truly disgusting.

I think the attorney is doing this
all over the state. Piece of shit. The A’s do a good thing for a good cause, and some scum bag uses it as a pretext to make a buck. All I can say is that if Karma is a bitch, then this guy has something very special coming to him.

I got that one too
And just in time (almost for Mother’s Day)
Probably won’t happen much more:
“Subsequent to the mediated Settlement, a California State Court of Appeal ruled that a Mothers Day promotion nearly identical to the Mothers Day promotion in this case is not unlawful.”

What do you call 100 lawyers at the bottom of the lake?
A good start.

There was a dead lawyer and a dead snake in the road. What was the only difference?
Skid marks in front of the snake.

From readding the link, looks like old Alfred was the attorney in the Anaheim case.
What, does he go from stadium to stadium?
